DND purchased spy gadgets as part of AFP modernization
Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. confirmed the DND has purchased a spy gadget for Armed Forces of the Philippines and denied the allegation that the equipment will be used against opposition.
“From the time that the Aquino administration took office, the Department of National Defense has made it a priority to ensure the professionalization on the Armed Forces of the Philippines” Coloma said during a press briefing in Malacanang Palace.
According to Arsenio Andolong, DND public affairs service chief, the equipments are due for delivery this August.
“Our efforts to upgrade the capability of the Armed Forces of the Philippines remain one of our highest priorities as we move our focus from internal security operations towards building a credible external defense,” said Andolong.
Andolong ensured the public that this equipment will not be used for political purpose.
